28.03.2013: The online channel is becoming increasingly more important for automotive parts sales. But up to now it was extremely difficult to include the prices of products listed in online shops in your own research.
From around June 2013 PartsPool® users will have the opportunity to also take into account the prices available in online shops. Using the select module "Online prices", PartsPool® will then supply further important market information for an efficient product and price management of automotive spare parts. The gadget will show where articles are trading online and at what price. Users can include the prices available in online shops in daily research alongside the recommended list price.

In order to support automobile manufacturers and car part producers with locations in Latin America more intensively and efficiently, Eucon has founded a subsidiary in Brazil. The background to the expansion is the quick development and increasing importance of the largest South American market for the automotive industry. Today, after China and the US, Brazil is the most important foreign location of many European and American automobile manufacturers and automotive suppliers. After the founding of the first foreign subsidiary in Atlanta in the US, this second subsidiary in Brusque in the south of Brazil will enable Eucon to continue its international expansion and focus on this important growth market.
A Brazil data packet will shortly be available for PartsPool®. This allows Eucon Brasil Ltda. to offer market and competition analysis and comprehensive service for vehicle manufacturers and automotive suppliers. Using the web-based PartsPool® information system Eucon continuously supplies up-to-date data of car parts of the most important international markets and tracks millions of car parts from their market launch until product elimination. This enables the efficient and profitable procurement and analysis of spare part information which is usually time consuming and costly. The solution from the market leader is therefore a unique search machine for automotive aftersales which is able to reliably and easily collect information on spare parts.
"The objective of founding the new company is primarily to systematically build up and process the Latin American market with innovative solutions for a successful spare parts business. The emerging Brazilian market offers an enormous potential for the automotive industry", is the result of a study carried out by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. "Many automobile manufacturers and first-tier supplieres who are our customers are already successfully represented in Brazil and so the demand for reliable data is great. A branch office in Brazil is therefore a logical step in our growth strategy. By following our customers to Brazil we can offer our customers a decisive competitive advantage and focus better on the local prevailing market conditions", says Marcel R. Oosenbrugh, Managing Partner of Eucon.
The Brazilian José-Carlos Zen takes over responsibility for the management of Eucon Brazil. He has considerable experience in the field of automotive aftersales and maintains a close network of strategically important contacts.
Servigistics, the leading enterprise software solution for Service Lifecycle Management (SLM), and Eucon, innovation and outsourcing partner for car manufacturers, component manufacturers and the insurance industry, announced a joint offering that will enable automotive manufacturers and tier one suppliers to increase profitability on aftermarket parts sales.
Both Servigistics and Eucon have a strong presence in the aftermarket automotive industry. Eucon is a leader in providing its clients comprehensive automotive market and competitive analysis capabilities to enable target driven service strategies.
Eucon tracks millions of automotive products from launch right through to elimination. The solution carries out a precise analysis of how the market responds to price changes and detects unrealized profit potential according to the product group level and also specifically by part number. The combination of Eucon's in-depth market knowledge with Servigistics Service Parts Pricing solution that simulates and identifies the optimal price for every new and existing aftermarket part, will provide clients with the tools to further competitive advantage and higher profit contributions from service.
"Pricing Manager helps to meet the complex product management requirements with its unique combination of proven pricing software and aftermarket expertise. By combining our excellent industry knowledge with Servigistics' software, we are offering an innovative solution to the automotive market to optimize profits throughout the parts' lifecycle," explains Norbert Dohmen, Managing Director Automotive at Eucon.
"Pricing professionals understand that without the right tools and data, it is difficult to calibrate replacement parts prices to avoid undesirable loss of market share through over-pricing and unnecessary profit erosion through under-pricing," says Eric Hinkle, CEO at Servigistics. "The combined offering with Eucon will help companies make better informed decisions to capture the value and competitive advantage that can be achieved from price optimization in aftermarket parts sales."

Using PartsPool has become even more user-friendly. It works by using image-mapped graphics of the vehicle which, when clicked on, link to the desired part (see figure). At the end of the process the exact OE number is displayed.
This means that users can directly launch the parts search function using the diagram of the vehicle without having to know the OE number.

From today, Parts Pool 3 customers may test the module free for 4 weeks. The offer will end on 30July 2011.

"With the countries that have recently joined - the USA, Slovakia, and Turkey and the completed data for Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, we are now that much closer to our goal of providing comprehensive and permanently complete data," says Norbert Dohmen.

The next step for the USA involves incorporating the Asian and finally local automotive manufacturers. In addition, Slovenia was added on May 1 and today covers 19 manufacturers. Turkey was also added with 20 automotive manufacturers, which corresponds roughly to 90% of the Turkish automotive market.
Furthermore, data was completed for the markets in the Czech Republic to include 33 automotive manufacturers, Hungary to include 20 manufacturers, and Slovakia to include 32 manufacturers.
